»In einem Land, dessen Perspektive Schadensbegrenzung, dessen Zustand Verdrossenheit ist, in dem Biertischreden zu politischen Programmen gestylt werden, in dem jeder nur noch die Hälfte glaubt und das Doppelte will, in dem Egoismus, Materialsucht und Sichraushalten die stillen Parolen des Alltags sind, wollen wir durch verschiedene Aktionen im öffentlichen Raum Denkanstöße geben«, so hört man vom Magma-Team aus Karlsruhe. So wurde ,»Guerilla Utopia« ins Leben gerufen, das »Events« der besonderen Art präsentiert. An einem schönen Julitag werden vier Buchstaben aus gefrorenem Wasser (jeder eine Tonne schwer!) in der Karlsruher Kaiserstraße aufgestellt. Im Lauf des Tages schmelzen diese dann dahin, bis nichts mehr übrigbleibt, außer einer Website mit Informationen und Links. Die vier Buchstaben bildeten das Wort OZON - Erklärungen bedarf es wohl keine. Man darf gespannt sein, welches Thema die engagierten Designer als nächstes auspacken. Eines ist sicher: es wird Aufmerksamkeit erregen und zum Nachdenken anregen.
»In this country there's a general lethargy, pub talk gets elevated to the status of a political programme, people only think about damage limitation, they don't believe in much but are quick to demand everything; egoism, materialism and a »not-my-problem« attitude are the underlying currents of the day. With our campaigus in public spaces, we want to make people stop and think«, says the Magma team of Karlsruhe. So they devised »Guerrilla Utopia«, featuring events of a very special kind. On a fine July day four letters of the alphabet, carved out of ice and each one weighing a tonne (!), were put up in Kaiserstrasse in Karlsruhe. During the day they melted away until there was nothing left, except for a website with information and links. The four letters formed the word OZON - no further explanation is required. It will be interesting to follow what these designers with a social conseience do next. One thing is certain. It will get our attention, and make us stop and think.
